WeChat Pay Gift Pack Operator Page

Gift Pack is an official mini programme of WeChat Pay. Think of a mini programme as being a little like an app within an app. It is the place within WeChat Pay that Chinese visitors to New Zealand will visit to find tourism operators that accept WeChat Pay, learn more about their services and find any available special offers.

Content in Gift Pack is location-based. A WeChat Pay user will open the mini-programme and see relevant content from their current location. From there, users can click on Operator marketing pages to find out more about businesses that interest them.

Every operator that participates in this campaign receives their own marketing page within Gift Pack. It allows you to promote your services and special offers to WeChat Pay users. The Flying Tiger team will help you create your marketing content for Gift Pack, including translating English content into Chinese.

When you are ready to upload your Gift Pack marketing content, you can do so here.

You can also create a special offer (referred to as a Coupon) to be displayed within Gift Pack. It is not compulsory to create a Coupon. However, it is recommended as a great way to attract Chinese customers into your business.

Coupons do not need to be of significant value to be successful. In general, we find offers that encourage increased spend do well. An example of this might be offering a gift store discount to customers who purchase an entry ticket.

There are four different types of Coupons:

  • Cash Discount - e.g. receive $5 off this item;

  • Percentage Discount - e.g. receive 5% off this item;

  • Gift With Purchase - e.g. receive this free widget with each item purchased;

  • Upsell - e.g. receive a 5% discount on this widget when spending $50 on entry.

Your offers will be displayed in the WeChat Pay Gift Pack mini-programme. WeChat Pay users will see your offers based on a variety of elements, such as their physical location and what other content they have viewed. A WeChat Pay user will save the Coupon to their digital wallet and present it for redemption on arrival at your business. Likewise, if your business also accepts WeChat Pay online, you can include a promo code with your Coupon to allow a WeChat Pay user to redeem online.

Details of your special offer will be displayed in both Chinese and English, making it easy for your staff to identify. Likewise, we will provide you with a design proof of your Coupon before the campaign launch. When creating your Coupon online, you will need a business logo to upload. You can also upload a product or business photo and a barcode or QR code if you wish.

How Gift Pack works

There are some key features of Gift Pack that will help make your Operator marketing page attractive to WeChat Pay users.

  1. Hero Offer - You are able to create as many special offers as you wish. However, we recommend creating no more than four. The Flying Tiger team will work with you to nominate one of your offers as the Hero, to feature at the top of your Operator page. Our team will be in touch shortly to discuss your offers in more detail. Creating special offers is not compulsory, but it strongly recommended.

  2. Business Details - These are the important details a WeChat Pay user will want to know about your business. This section includes a brief introduction that explains your services and products, along with address and contact details.

  3. Photo gallery - Providing attractive photos will help WeChat Pay users understand your business and what you offer. You can upload up to five images.

Things to know before uploading your draft marketing content:

There is a range of information you should prepare before beginning to upload your draft marketing content. Having all this content on hand will make the upload process simpler and reduce the likelihood of the Flying Tiger team needing to contact you to request more information.
